ABOUT ME

LWC Online Services

My name is Rick Hagan and I am one of two CIS instructors here at Lindsey Wilson College.  I have been teaching here since the fall of 1990.  I am a graduate of the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering (1974) and a Master of Science degree in computer science (1992).  The very reason I enrolled in graduate school after being out of school for 12 years was to equip myself to teach at a church-related college such as Lindsey.

During my time here at Lindsey, I have taught a wide assortment of courses.  The computer classes I currently teach are Computer Concepts and Applications, Computer System Fundamentals, Microcomputer System Management, and Networking.  But, in the past, I have also taught BASIC programming, Pascal programming, Data Communications, Computer Architecture, Systems Analysis and Design, Advanced Computer Applications, Web Page Construction, C++ Programming, Java Programming, and Business Computer Applications.  In addition to these computer-related classes, I have also taught a Study Skills class and a Physical Science Supplemental Instruction class.

Prior to attending graduate school, I was mostly employed as an engineer.  First at a consulting engineering firm and then at a pair of air filter manufacturing companies.  Mixed in with this was one brief period of unemployment.

My wife and I have been married since March 31, 1984.  (See I do remember my anniversary.)  We have a married daughter who is in graduate school at Western Kentucky University majoring in communications disorders.   We also have a son who is a freshman at Campbellsville University majoring in educational ministries and computer information systems.

The most important day of my life, however, was the day I was adopted into the family of God.  On December 19, 1976, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and have been proud to proclaim my allegiance to Him ever since.
